Una River Rafting – Complete Guide to Bihać and Una National Park
The Una River is one of the cleanest and most spectacular rivers in Europe — emerald-green water, dramatic waterfalls and an untouched canyon make it a top destination for adventure tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Whitewater rafting on the Una is the single most popular activity for visitors to Bihać and Una National Park, drawing thousands of guests each year from Croatia, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Switzerland and beyond.
This page lists all verified rafting agencies operating in the Bihać area and along the Una River. Every agency features direct phone numbers, online booking links, Google ratings and precise locations on an interactive map. Data is regularly updated to stay accurate. Beyond rafting, many agencies also offer kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), diving, cycling and hiking packages.
Rafting on the Una is run in several stages that vary in length, difficulty and scenery. The most sought-after stage starts below Štrbački Buk — the Una's highest waterfall at 24 metres — and runs through the strictly protected core of the National Park. This route covers approximately 15 km, lasts 3–4 hours and is classified as challenging (grade II–III whitewater). The price is around €45 per person. For families, beginners and those seeking a more relaxed experience, the Kostela–Grmuša stage is ideal: roughly 14 km, 2.5 hours, with plenty of swimming stops and sandy river beaches. This stage costs around €35 per person.
The rafting season runs from April to October. Peak season is June through August, when water levels are stable and air temperatures are most comfortable. Spring (April–May) offers higher water and stronger rapids for experienced rafters, while autumn is quieter and excellent for photography. All agencies supply full equipment: wetsuit, water shoes, helmet and life jacket. Transport from the base camp or centre to the starting point and back is included in the price. Most agencies also offer accommodation — from tent camps and bungalows to hotels and glamping lodges right on the riverbank.
Bihać sits just 85 km from Plitvice Lakes and 15 km from the Izačić border crossing into Croatia, making it an ideal base for a combined trip: Una rafting plus Plitvice Lakes in the same weekend. From Zagreb, the drive takes about 2.5 hours; from Split around 4 hours; from Sarajevo roughly 5 hours.
